Take a Moment for Luna, the Moon. Why? Because...

Luna, Moon, our Satellite, Ball o'Cheese, Man in the Moon...
For me, the visions of the Dark Side, Pink Floyd playing in the back, memories flashing of sleeping bags out in the yard with popcorn and telescopes and bedtime stories, songs and wishes made at night. The night sky, specifically the Moon, is magical.

I love to imagine Lunar bases of military posts, footprints of dust from our fellow explorers and also maybe aliens. The Moon is a reminder that we're one rock away from destruction and that our seasons are delicate. The way space, the forces of Mother Nature, effect matter - our bodies and beings - is magical. The Moon plays a very important role.

So, today is NASA's "Observe the Moon" Day. I do hope you'll have a chance to check out the zoom on your nearest camera device or visit a local telescope. Search out a group near you that does sky mapping and consider watching The Clash of the Titans to get inspired.

The Gods, messengers, spirits and menstrual cycles are all tied to the Moon. Luna, the big ball in our horizon, helps us tell the time of month and track the best time to plant and harvest our food. The moon will tell us where we are, when we are and how the weather might be in the coming weeks. Every ball of light, stars to satellites, makes a difference to our lives and so to pay attention to them is to pay attention to ourselves.

Feel free to tag me online to your amazing Moon photos!
